Benzoyl anhydride (C₁₄H₁₀O₃) is an organic compound commonly used as a benzoylating agent in chemical synthesis. It appears as white crystalline powder or flakes, with a melting point of ~43°C and a boiling point of ~360°C. It is soluble in organic solvents (e.g., ethanol, ether) but nearly insoluble in water.
